Questions we hear on the finger pier.
Wrap timing, canvas, whether you have to stand there, and how a real payment would work. This site still will not take one.
When should I wrap?
Book in October. We put film on from late October through mid-December, after your last planned weekend and before a hard freeze. Waiting on the first ice usually means waiting on us, too.
What about my canvas?
Wet canvas mildews under film. We take the bimini and camper panels off, or we leave them open to air if the marina will allow it. Canvas cleaning is an add-on. We do not shrink-wrap a closed, damp enclosure and call it done.
Do I need to be there?
No. Tell the dock office we are coming, and leave a key or a lockbox plan with them. On a real job we text when we start and send photos of the whole boat when we finish. This form does not text anybody — it is a demo.
How does payment work?
A real shop would take a card or a check when the photos go out. This demo does not take payment, does not store a card, and does not hold a slip.
Will you trailer my boat to a shop?
No. We come to the slip. If she is on a trailer in a marina yard, say so and we will tell you if we can work her there.
Do you fix engines or cracked gelcoat?
Oxidation, yes. Structural cracks and engine work, no. We will point at the damage and stop. We would rather lose the wax job than hide it.
What if it rains on wrap day?
We need a dry boat. Rain moves the film to the next fair day. It does not cancel you, and we say so before we drive.
